# GILTS > GILTS is a free, independent explorer for UK conventional gilts. It shows the latest published prices, coupons, redemption dates, running yield, gross redemption yield, capital to par, estimated coupon income, tax-equivalent yield, income and capital-gain frontier charts, and conventional, par and implied RPI yield curves. It is not investment, financial or tax advice. Canonical: https://gilts.danielread.co.uk Sitemap: https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/sitemap.xml Contact: dan@danielread.co.uk Language: en-GB Data refresh: daily; the latest valuation date is shown on the homepage and each gilt page. Licence: https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/legal/terms ## What GILTS answers - What a UK conventional gilt is, and how it differs from an index-linked gilt. - How clean price, accrued interest, dirty price, running yield and gross YTM relate. - How much annual coupon income a nominal holding produces. - How the Personal Savings Allowance affects estimated tax on coupon income. - How tax-equivalent yield compares a gilt with a taxable savings account. - Which gilts offer the most income, the most capital gain, or the best balance of both. - What the conventional gilt curve, Bank of England par curve and implied RPI curve show. - How a particular gilt's price and yield have changed over time. ## Pages - [Home](https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/): the gilt table, filters, settings, frontier charts, yield curves, method, glossary, common questions and sources. - [Gilts index](https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/gilts): every conventional gilt in the latest snapshot, with coupon and redemption date. - [Gilt detail](https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/gilts/{ISIN}): latest snapshot, metrics, yield curve, price history, coupon schedule and provenance for one gilt. The prerendered HTML carries ISIN-level metadata and a heading; live values hydrate from the API. Replace `{ISIN}` with a 12-character ISIN such as `GB00B00NY175`. - [Legal and documents](https://gilts.danielread.co.uk/legal): privacy, terms, cookies, security and changelog. Home section anchors: `/#universe`, `/#frontier`, `/#curves`, `/#methodology`, `/#glossary`, `/#faq`, `/#resources`. ## Data and method - Market prices and the source running-yield and gross-YTM fields come from dividenddata.co.uk. - Instrument reference data, including ISIN, coupon, issue date and redemption date, comes from the UK Debt Management Office (DMO) D1A report. - The Bank of England supplies the par yield curve and implied RPI curve. Index-linked gilt real yields supply the breakeven points. - Prices are per £100 nominal. Coupons and yields are percentage points: `4.5` means 4.5%. - The price feed does not date its quotes. The DMO close-of-business date is used as the valuation date. - Settlement defaults to T+1. T+0, T+2 and T+3 variants are published for settlement date, accrued interest, dirty price and modified duration. - Gross YTM is the source yield to maturity. Capital YTM is gross YTM less running yield. Capital to par is the total move from the clean price to £100, not an annual rate. - Coupon dates and the seven-business-day ex-dividend period are inferred from the redemption date and the England-and-Wales business-day calendar. - Tax figures are illustrative. They use the selected tax band, position size, other savings income and remaining Personal Savings Allowance. They do not model wrappers, dealing costs or a full personal tax position. - The site has no accounts, cookies or analytics. Settings stay in browser local storage. ## API - `GET /api/gilts/latest`: the latest snapshot for every conventional gilt, as JSON. - `GET /api/gilts/{ISIN}/history`: dated price and yield history for one gilt, as JSON. - `GET /api/curves/latest`: latest Bank of England par and implied RPI curves plus index-linked gilt points, as JSON. The API is read-only and cached at the Cloudflare edge. The browser never receives a database token. ## Rendering - GILTS is a static build. Every route is prerendered to HTML in `dist/client` and hydrated in the browser. - There is no request-time SSR. The Start server runtime in `dist/server` is not deployed. - Bond pages are prerendered as metadata shells. Their latest values and history load from the API after hydration. - Cloudflare Pages serves the static files and runs the Pages Functions for the API. ## Limits - GILTS compares published prices and estimates. It is not a quote, a dealing price, a recommendation or tax advice. - The price source is unofficial and can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Check a price with your broker before trading. - The pipeline covers conventional gilts in the table. Index-linked gilts appear only as breakeven points on the implied RPI chart. - Gross YTM assumes each coupon is reinvested at the same yield. Modified duration is a small-change estimate. - No figure accounts for your full tax position, dealing costs, other holdings or investment objectives. ## Citation Cite the site as: > GILTS, “UK conventional gilt explorer”, https://gilts.danielread.co.uk, accessed YYYY-MM-DD. For a specific snapshot, include the valuation date shown on the page. ## Development GILTS is a React 19 and TanStack Start build-time SSG site deployed on Cloudflare Pages. It serves prerendered HTML and hydrates as an SPA; there is no request-time SSR. The data endpoints use Turso Cloud through read-only Pages Functions. The Python pipeline fetches, joins and publishes the daily snapshot. ```bash pnpm exec vp run build # sitemap, prerender, tsc, HTML headers, SEO check pnpm exec vp lint # Oxlint, type-aware pnpm exec vp fmt # Oxfmt pnpm exec vp check # format, lint and typecheck ``` The build output lives in `dist/client`. Every route in `sitemap.xml` is prerendered to static HTML, including the individual gilt pages, then hydrated in the browser. The Start server runtime is not deployed.
